About Mila Loskutova

Hi, I’m Mila. I am a registered clinical counsellor located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I specialize in areas such as obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, anxiety, stress and burnout.

My goal as a therapist is to make my clients feel safe, heard and understood. My approach is semi-structured - I often invite clients to identify goals while balancing it with a sense of curiosity and a sprinkle of dry humour.

My role is to offer a space where you can slow down, talk openly, and begin to understand yourself with more compassion. Together, we can practice new ways of being in the world and problem-solve any difficulties that may emerge.

My experiences as a queer person and a first-generation immigrant shape my approach to therapy. I have a deep understanding of how different identities and systems shape the way we move through the world. I’m especially passionate about supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, immigrants, and those exploring identity and belonging. I welcome folks of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures. I am also sex-positive and kink-informed.

Many of the people I work with are navigating busy lives, relationships, exhaustion, or the quiet feeling that something isn’t quite right. You don’t need to have a clear reason for coming to therapy. Curiosity is enough.

How I Work

I believe therapy works best when you feel emotionally safe. This means we work together to move towards our goals, check in regularly, and stay curious rather than critical about what comes up.

Our work together may include:

  • Gently exploring thoughts, emotions, and experiences

  • Noticing patterns and modifying behaviours that no longer serve you

  • Reframing unhelpful beliefs about self, others, and the world

  • Learning practical tools for emotional self-regulation

  • Cultivating compassion towards yourself and others

  • Sitting with discomfort

  • Targeted evidence-based interventions for specific symptom reduction (such as ERP or EMDR)

  • A good laugh at the absurdity of life

There is no wrong way to approach therapy. Together, we can map out a path forward that helps you grow and heal.

I aim to create a space that feels:

  • Calm and non-judgmental

  • Warm, playful and irreverent

  • Informed by anti-oppressive and feminist values

  • Honest and direct, without being harsh

  • Respectful of your boundaries and autonomy

While I can offer direction and guidance, you are always in control of what we talk about. My role is to support and to help process whatever comes up.
